Ready for another adventure with the German Ambassador?

Interested in combining an autumn adventure with cultural exchange and the chance to meet the German Ambassador to Kosovo? Here’s your opportunity! Join us on Saturday, October 5th, for a joint hike to the former KFOR mountain hut „Zitadelle“, a piece of Kosovar-German history!

Feeling brave enough to face the unpredictable autumn weather and not afraid of heights? Then continue together with our Ambassador on the challenging climb further to Kobilica peak at 2,525m altitude.

What Awaits You:

- A pristine alpine experience: We start at 8:30 hrs from „Restaurant Papradjina“ (1,100m altitude, outside of the village of Lubinjë e Epërme) on a 4-kilometer hike with around 600m elevation gain up to the former KFOR mountain hut „Zitadelle“ (1,700m altitude). There we will all come together for a small picnic. Feel free to bring your favorite food.
- For those up to the challenge, we will continue after the picnic for another 3km and 750m elevation gain of steep climbing up to Kobilica peak (2,525m altitude).
You’ll be guided by experienced local experts from Shoqata Bjeshkatare „Haxhi Beda“.
- Cultural insights along the way: Visit the former KFOR mountain hut Zitadelle - a remnant of common Kosovar-German history. Be part of a diverse hiking group, meet new people and share traditional food at a joint picnic.
- Meet the Ambassador: This is your chance to connect with the German Ambassador in an informal setting, far from the usual formalities.
- Choose Your Adventure: Whether you’re up for the challenge of reaching the peak (in total 14km, 1,350m elevation gain) or prefer to stop at the Zitadelle (in total 8km, 600m elevation gain), there’s a route for you.
- End of the Journey: We expect to return to our starting point by 17:00 hrs.

Important Details:

- Meeting Point: „Restaurant Papradjina“ accessible by car from the village of Lubinjë e Epërme. Parking is possible 200m before arriving at the restaurant. Please note that participants are responsible for arriving at the starting point on their own.
- What to Bring: Don’t forget to pack plenty of water, a lunch, and to dress appropriately for the alpine environment. Proper hiking boots and attire are essential, given the rugged terrain and variable weather conditions. Be prepared for cold temperatures at the summit and possibly wet weather conditions but also don't forget sun protection.
